Collaborations in South America

This year our gypsy brewing activities took us to South America! Through partnerships with local craft breweries in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santiago, Chile we produced 10 small batch collaboration beers. We also developed a homebrewing class, Zero Barrier Brewing, which was taught in Buenos Aires.

Bushido Brewery is brewing again! It's been nearly a year since the brewery was packed up in storage and I left LA to travel. Since then I've drank a lot of beer but haven't brewed any myself. Now with the help of various brew on premises (BOP) partners, Bushido Brewery is brewing again. Last month I did the first gypsy batch in Seattle. Today I am brewing in Victoria BC. Our Belgian Quadrupel (bottle code 10) won 2nd place in the Belgian Abbey Ale category at the 2013 Mayfaire competition! That makes two victories at two competitions this year, and we're very pleased!

Our Belgian Quadrupel (bottle code 10) won 1st place in the QUAFF America's Finest City Homebrew Competition in the Belgian Strong Ale category against 33 other competing beers. We're ecstatic and honored to receive our first competition victory, and a gold medal at that!

Second Anniversary

Today is our second annivarsary! Our first beer was brewed on this day in 2011 and there are still a few bottles in the back of the cellar. We want to celebrate by opening a bottle to taste how it has aged, but since we're currently in London, that will have to wait. Instead, we'll celebrate by enjoying some excellent brews from London craft breweries. Kampai!
